Weber Family

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to take photos of family and friends. Our families met through our daughters, who played soccer together. While my daughter decided soccer wasn’t for her (too much running, she explained), our daughters remained friends, and so did we. It was an absolute privilege to capture these. I always say that because taking photographs is an invitation to private moments. I try not to take that lightly or for granted.

We shot at Rocky River Park around 11 am. Not my typical shooting times. I try to either shoot early in the morning or just before sunset, which are the best times for light. We lucked out because it was getting ready to rain, which meant cloud cover and defused sunlight, creating naturally flattering light on their skin. I still brought a speed light to ensure I got enough cover. At the end of our shoot, it quickly turned into a beautiful sunny day, and I had to pivot to shooting in the shade with my flash for the first communion photos. Overall, I am pleased with what we captured.
